God's Judgment vs Karma

Matthew 7:2

For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

BibleApps.com states that the Bible uses the word "judgment" a total of 430 times in various spellings and occurrences.

On several occasions, I have heard believers use the term 'karma' or similar phrasing when referring to someone who received retribution or judgment. They will say things like:

1.     What goes around comes around

2.     Karma or Payback is a ***** (you can fill in the rest).

3.     They got a taste of Their Own medicine

4.     They got what was coming to them

5.     The chickens have come home to roost

6.     Karma is a cruel mistress

7.     You reap what you sow (in the bible)

Do you ever notice that when people say these lines, they say it in a vindictive, spiteful, prideful, and flippant kind of way, cold, judgmental, and delight to see the person punished. If we know anything, we know that our words have power; there are energies and spirits attached to our words. Think about it, have you ever heard someone say Karma is a ***** or They got what was coming to them or What goes around comes around from a place of love for a fellow believer in Christ?

I will wait ………

No? Because you cannot say those types of statements from a place of love or empathy. When we a s believers say those types of statements, we place ourselves essentially on the throne of God, we make ourselves the judge and jury and we come into agreement with the sentence.

I will admit that I used to say these phrases as well before I truly learned about God’s judgment and His purposes and plans for the judgment of the earth and its people. That was B.C, y'all, before Christ. I used to get a good laugh and love to see somebody get what I thought was karma, made me feel like there was still hope in the world ! Lol!

But all jokes aside, what is the difference between the two?

Karma is defined by Oxford dictionary as: in Hinduism and Buddhism, as the sum of a person’s actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.

God's Judgment is defined by His righteousness, holiness, and sovereignty. It is a part of his divinity and nature as God that he requires justice, and this leads him to evaluate humanity and render judgments, decisions, and decrees over his creations.

Just by looking at the definition of Karma, all types of red flags should be popping up in your mind right now. Let us be clear here, Karma and God’s Judgment are in no way alike!

Karma relies on an anonymous source to bring for its judgments, it rests in the belief that doing certain acts of good or evil will bring about an effect the details are unknown, it states that people who are in a certain class in their lives are they are because of something they did in a past life, that we can change our karma from lifetime to lifetime (reincarnation).

God’s judgment is clear and spelled out for each one to see. If you do this, then that will happen. He tells us that he will pour out his wrath once the cup of iniquity is full. He has a plan for everything, even his punishments are carefully laid out, with no ambiguity whatsoever. To top it off, He often does not give us what we deserve because of his grace and mercy. If he did, we would all be in worse conditions than we are now. It is one of the reasons why we worship him so much, because he cares enough to wait for us to get it right.

When God pronounced a judgment, he first came in love, patience, and longsuffering. He is slow to anger, allowing his anger to build to a level that becomes intolerable for him to bear. It is not like our anger or our patience. Think about how long we have been playing in his face, being hot and cold, circling the block with him, and yet he is still they are patiently waiting. SO, when God pronounces his sentence, it is righteous anger; it is not prideful or vindictive. It is a divine order, a decree from a KING.

Galatians 6:7

Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return.

Proverbs 26:27

He who digs a pit will fall into it, and he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him.

Obadiah 1:15

For the Day of the LORD is near for all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your recompense will return upon your own head.

Using words like karma, being prideful, and petty when someone receives judgment from God are all in opposition to his commandments. The person who received that judgment suffered because they opened sinful doors in their life, allowing the enemy to use them for his plans and purpose. Sadly, most people will not realize that they are not acting fully on their own accord, but are instead housing spirits (holy or evil ) that dictate that person's thoughts, words, and actions.

The reason we do not pray to return to senders against humans or give them over to karma is because Jesus is still able to redeem them; if they are breathing, it is never too late.

Proverbs 24:17-18  Do not rejoice when your enemy falls;  and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles. Lest the Lord see it and be displeased with him and turn away his wrath from him.
